Frequently Asked Questions
Is the data objective or biased to Hyundai? All the data comes from independent third parties and has not been changed by Hyundai. It is the same data used by independent motoring web sites (e.g. fifthgear.five.tv and www.verdictoncars.com). Where do the values for the criteria (e.g air conditioning) come from? There are two possible sources for the values. Where available, the system uses actual figures from the price list of the relevant manufacturer. Where the manufacturer does not offer that item of equipment, the system calculates the average option price for that item. The average is calculated by taking into account all the instances where that item is offered as an option, but only for cars of the same type. Thus the average price for air conditioning for Getz-sized cars is different from the average price for Elantra-sized cars. Again, all prices are independently produced by third parties - Hyundai has no input into the figures. How come Hyundais always seem to come out better?Hyundai's policy is to offer exceptional value for money. However, there are comparisons in which other models do come out cheaper on a like-for-like basis - but they are pretty few and far between. How is the list of competitors chosen? This is based on market research into which other cars Hyundai customers considered buying. |
